Greenpeace Responds to Dove’s Onslaught

April 24, 2008

Hot on the heels of criticism that the Dove Campaign For Real Beauty’s ‘Onslaught’ video was hypocritical (due to the fact that its parent company Unilever also owns Axe), Greenpeace is lampooning the video for an entirely different reason: Dove’s consumption of palm oil is environmentally detrimental to Indonesian forests. The Greenpeace response video (below) is not the best viral video I’ve ever seen, but it raises an interesting question: if your company is going to take the moral high-ground on one issue, is it forced to take the moral high-ground on others? –John
