The Anti-Advertising Agency: Quit Your Ad-Job

April 23, 2008

The brilliant Anti-Advertising Agency, an Eyebeam-backed project is offering a fellowship to get “talented people out of advertising and working on real problems.” Essentially, one applicant will be chosen to receive a big check on the condition that they quit their job. The winner will be announced during Advertising Week in New York.

I think this quote from the press-release sums it up perfectly:

The fund is seeded with hard-earned cash from creative endeavors, donated by Lambert and AAAFFF Executive Director Anne Elizabeth Moore, who will also judge the applications. The vast numbers of ad industry creatives who regularly express hatred toward their own jobs is expected to bring in thousands of submissions. ‘So many ad industry types hate what they do. I wish we could help them all,” Moore states.
